چکیده

Urban areas are vulnerable to flooding as a result of climate change and rapid urbanization thus flood losses becoming increasingly severe. Low impact development (LID) measures storm management technique designed for controlling runoff in urban areas, which is critical solving hazard. Therefore, this study developed an exploratory simulation–optimization framework the spatial arrangement LID measures. The proposed begins by applying numerical model simulate hydrological hydrodynamic processes during event, coupled with source tracking method was then used identify areas. Next, based on data, investment each catchment determined using inundation volume contribution ratio area (where most required) hazard occurs). Finally, resiliency sustainability different scenarios were evaluated several events order provide suggestions prediction decision-making process. results emphasized importance control. Furthermore, quantitatively evaluate transport between catchments effectiveness measures, regional relevance index (RI) analyze connectivity regions. applied Haikou City, China, wherein indicated that robust resilient solution mitigation. This demonstrates novelty combining highlights

Optimal Spatial Design of Capacity and Quantity of Rainwater Harvesting Systems for Urban Flood Mitigation

This study adopts rainwater harvesting systems (RWHS) into a stormwater runoff management model (SWMM) for the spatial design of capacities and quantities of rain barrel for urban flood mitigation. A simulation-optimization model is proposed for effectively identifying the optimal design. First of all, we particularly classified the characteristic zonal subregions for spatial design by using fu...

Optimal Flood Mitigation over Flood Propagation Approximations

Globally, flooding is the most frequent among all natural disasters, commonly resulting in damage to infrastructure, economic catastrophe, and loss of life. Since the flow of water is influenced by the shape and height of topography, an effective mechanism for preventing and directing floods is to use structures that increase height, e.g., levees and sandbags. In this paper, we introduce the Op...

A Framework for Flood Risk Analysis and Benefit Assessment of Flood Control Measures in Urban Areas

Flood risk analysis is more complex in urban areas than that in rural areas because of their closely packed buildings, different kinds of land uses, and large number of flood control works and drainage systems. The purpose of this paper is to propose a practical framework for flood risk analysis and benefit assessment of flood control measures in urban areas. Based on the concept of disaster ri...

Simulation-Optimization Framework for the Optimal Flood Mitigation Operation of Multi-Reservoir System

A novel multi-objective simulation-optimization (S-O) framework for flood mitigation in a river-reservoir system with multiple reservoirs and control points is proposed. Different combinations of objectives regarding flood mitigation in one or more of the reservoirs and/or one or more of the control points can be specified within the framework, namely, (1) maximizing the flood releases from the...

New spatial clustering-based models for optimal urban facility location considering geographical obstacles

The problems of facility location and the allocation of demand points to facilities are crucial research issues in spatial data analysis and urban planning. It is very important for an organization or governments to best locate its resources and facilities and efficiently manage resources to ensure that all demand points are covered and all the needs are met. Most of the recent studies, which f...
